Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a program designed to assist people with disabilities in living independently within their own home or a shared home owned & operated by a provider. SIL provides paid support for daily tasks designed to improve your independence by improving skills in day to day cooking, personal care and household cleaning.

UpCare helps you find a home and match with the right flatmates. A dedicated Customer Engagement Manager will guide you throughout the process. If you already have a home, we provide all necessary in-home supports. Here’s what you need to know about our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.
Once you’ve found your new home, we can give you the support you need to live there.
From day-to-day tasks to build your skills right through to overnight support, we’ve got you covered.

Yes! All our customers are part of the household routines and decisions.
This can be done in different ways depending on what each household prefers. As an example, in some houses, the housemates choose to sit down for a meeting each week to make decisions about their home.
You can choose from a wide range of comfortable and secure shared homes.
We will work with you to find something that’s just right.
We know it’s important that people click and get along.
We’ll work closely to learn about who you are and what you like, to match you with the right housemates!
Before you move in, we’ll even organise several ‘meet and greets’ so you can check out who you’ll be living with as well as trial nights if required to ensure you’ll love your new home! As well as get to meet the UpCare team who will be supporting you.
So when the time comes, you’ll already feel right at home! And, if it’s not the right fit, we work with you to find one that is!
