Client Incident Management System

Immediately contact Upcare if an incident happens with a client. If the incident is serious, call 000 first.
You must complete an online form within 48 hours of the incident occurring.Our Operations Manager will then provide you further information.

Disability Advocacy Network Australian (DANA)

DANA is a nationwide network of organisations that provide individual
advocacy, systemic advocacy, self advocacy, citizen advocacy, legal advocacy or family advocacy.

Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)

The DHHS helps create a more inclusive Victoria where people with disability get the
opportunities they deserve – while helping families, carers and organisations to transition
to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)

The National Insurance Agency for Disability (NDIA) is an independent statutory body. Their role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will help hundreds of thousands of Australians living with significant and permanent disabilities and their families and caregivers to live a better life. Local Care Coordinators (LAC’s)

The Local Area Coordinator (LAC) is responsible for helping people navigate through NDIS. They can help people with disabilities plan and coordinate to maximize the choice and control of their services. This includes helping disabled people navigate mainstream services and enhancing their ability to play an active role in their community. Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is an independent statutory body responsible under three laws: The Equal Opportunity Act, The Racial and Religious Tolerance Act and The Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.

• a free, fair and timely dispute resolution service
• information and education about equal opportunity, racial and religious vilification and the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities

The Disability Services Commissioner (DSC) is an independent supervisory body that resolves complaints and promotes the right of persons with disabilities to be free of abuse.

Office of the Public Advocate

The Victorian Office of the Public Advocate (OPA)promotes the rights, interests and dignity of persons with disabilities( including intellectual disability, mental illness, brain injury, physical disability or dementia) living in Victoria.

Victorian Ombudsman

The Ombudsman is accountable to Parliament instead of the current government. The Ombudsman investigates complaints about government departments and agencies ‘ administrative actions and decisions and about their staff’s behaviour.For more information visit www.ombudsman.vic.gov.au
